"The Origin of Scholes" is written by Peter H Scholes, a freelance editor of steel industry publications, living in Guisborough in North Yorkshire. He has been working for many years on tracing the origins of Scholes as well as the history of his own family (from Hatfield near Doncaster).
Peter would be delighted to hear from any one with an interest in Scholes as a
surname or placename, and especially from genealogists with information about
early families in the UK and North America. Suggestions for new material would
be of great help so that we can improve and extend The Origins of Scholes
for the interests of the Scholes community world-wide. A complete bibliography
